Problem in mobility

My wife is polio patient in right leg. Her age is 45. She got severe pain from last two month and not moving properly. Dr are suggesting fusion and triple arthrosis. Is it safe for her or we go for any other option. Will mobility be affected more after surgery. She is taking Nucoxia MR twice a week. Please suggest us.

If ankle. Is the source of pain and is having arthritis, then fusion is not a bad idea. To decide on joints to be arthrosed, one would like to see xrays.

Her pain are probably due to overuse of her weak polio limb. Ask her to rest for few days and then begin with 50-60% of her daily activities. Based on that you can take a further call about surgery.
