As you have felt, it should be exactly that! A stone in the submandibular gland duct. Earlier a gland excision used to be performed for this. However now a days we are successfully removing all stones from the duct using Sialendoscopy. This is a procedure by which a mini endoscope is used to remove stones using baskets.
