Preparation for 5km and 10 km run

I want to prepare myself for 5km run which is on 3rd September... I go about office at 10:50am and come back by 8:30 pm...how should I plan ??

Add protein rich food in ur diet like buttermilk which is easily accesible,sprouts,roasted chana and peanuts ,hydrate urself well
