Pregnancy with varicose vein

Hi. I had varicose vein during my 1st pregnancy . After delivery , it didnt reverse. Sometimes under control, sometimes worse . Drs said its 3rd stage varicose vein . I have ulcers occasionally in my left leg which take long to heal. Currently my left leg is   swollen, blackish skin with occasionally itching . Managing with compression stockings. My kid is 5 yrs old. Can I plan for second pregnancy now. What are possible pros and cons of second pregnancy in this condition? Will I be the same even during ,after pregnancy? Will my other  normal leg get affected during pregnancy? Will my existing varicose leg worsen during pregnancy ? Or Everything will be same as now even during , after pregnancy. Kindly help n guide. Thanks..

Preconceptional counseling is advisable. You need to take medications throughout your pregnancy to prevent formation of thrombus (blood clot) as pregnancy is hypercoagulable state. These medicines may affect baby and delivery process. Surgical reference during pregnancy is equally important.

It is very much likely to get worse during the pregnancy.Recurring venous ulcers with delayed healing indicate advanced varicose veins . Consult with a vascular or general surgeon for a clinical examination , Doppler ultrasound scan and suitable management.
