Pregnancy Screening Advice Needed

2026-08-05 10:46:28
I am pregnant. My first ultrasound was done on 18 July when I was 8 weeks and 2 days pregnant. My doctor advised that the next ultrasound would be in the 5th month and prescribed a quadruple test at 12 i.e on 13th August. I wanted to know if this approach is appropriate—can the NT scan be skipped or is the doctor skipping it due to quadruple test done instead?

These two scans check different things. The NT scan is done earlier, around 11 to 13 weeks, and the quadruple test later, so normally both are offered rather than one replacing the other.
Next Steps
Confirm directly with your doctor whether the NT scan was deliberately skipped, and if you're still within the window, ask to get it done.
Health Tips
This scan has a narrow time window, so don't delay clarifying it.
