HYSTEROSALPHINGOGRAPHY
- Uterine cavity appears to be deviated to left side and shows fusiform configuration of the cavity with smooth outline.
- Left Fallopian tube appears normal in course and caliber with free spill of contrast in to the peritoneal cavity.
- Right Fallopian tube not visualised.
- Per speculum examination showed single cervix with single opening.
IMPRESSION:
- Fusiform configuration of uterine cavity with left Fallopian tube- unicornuate uterus.
- Elongated isoechoic ( to myometrium) structure arising from right lateral aspect of uterus with echogenic area within on UCG - suspicious for rudimentary horn.
Dr suggested laparoscopy.
Your HSG is suggestive of developmental abnormality in your uterus with one of your tubes blocked. HSG is an excellent imaging modality for checking the functioning of female reproductive system but may not give complete detailed information in case when an abnormality is detected
Next Steps
It would be ideal to do not only a Laparoscopy but also a Hysteroscopy to figure out the type, extent and implications of the abnormality.
