Exactly a year ago underwent laparoscopic right extended hemicolectomy for carcinoma of the ascending colon and hepatic flexure with mesocolic lymph node involvement. This was followed by 12 cycles of FOLFOX chemotherapy combined with targeted therapy (Bevacizumab). The most recent CT scan in May 2025 showed no residual or recurrent disease, and Despite stable imaging, experiencing abdominal pain, peri-anal pain, and sometime vomit loose motion. Advices for semen culture and medications (Nitrofurantoin). i want to know if abdominal pain and rectum pain can be due to semen infection???

Hi there, your radioimaging is not suggesting residual/ recurrence. Nitrofurantoin is used mostly in UTI that is urinary tract infections. I think they would have advised urine routine ,culture and sensitivity. If your symptoms are acute ,it is most likely infection. So, don't worry ,loose motions vomiting are quite possible after  infection and are side effects of antibiotics too. My concern is at the age of 29 ,you had a major surgery and treatment. Are you having any family history or is your diet lacking fibre completely?

So, child I believe you should have healthy sexual practices. Please take a healthy diet. Regular monitoring of your disease is extremely important.

Post op staging? Was there peritoneal metastases or non-local nodes? [I am asking this because you have taken Bevacizumab] Kindly upload the present CT report. you have mentioned stable disease (Means there is disease which has not increased) Please clarify these points. Yes these symptoms could be due to the residual disease and / or post op strictures. About semen infection, please consult a urologist.
Next Steps
Consult Urologist, Upload recent Ct report
