Encourage breastfeeding. Dehydration is common to cause jaundice.
Give Sun therapy. Direct sunlight in morning around 7am for 20 to 30minutes. Indirect sunlight can be given throughout the day ie coming from doors and windows.
Billirubin may rise till 5th or 7th day of life and then starts decreasing and can remain on lower side till 3 weeks also.
Repeat Billirubin after 48 hours, if above 15 then to get the child admitted for phototherapy.
If mother blood group is Rh negative or O positive then the whole scenario changes.
