MVP is by birth situation in which the left sided mitral valve has extra loose tissue(myxomatous) in one of the leaflet of Mitral valve( Anterior Mitral leaflet) and length is more than usual, bcoz of these structural changes valve closing may not be clean shut as occur with normal valve. This abnormal closing may cause Mitral regurgitation(MR). MVP is structural abnormality diagnosed on 2 D echo and it's Prevalance is 2-4% in general population. In your case this abnormality has almost normal closing of valve and there is only trivial MR which is seen in almost 30 to 50% of normal population also on 2D echo so nothing to worry about.
