2023-05-29 05:23:41
Hello, my mother aged 68 years visited neurologist for balance problem while walking and doctor diagnosed peripheral neuropathy due to elevated blood sugar level and prescribed gabapin 300 (1-0-1) along with sugar medicines and now her blood sugar level is in control and her health condition is improved but still she has to take support sometimes while walking or ascending or descending stairs and for that he recommended physiotherapy gait exercise and strengthening exercises. Here my question is with this would she be able to walk normally like before and any electrotherapy needed or with manual exercise therapy only will be cured? Attached doctor's prescription herewith

Physiotherapy treatment for her is more about movements which should be started under a physiotherapist's guidance. To maintain regular activity, certain exercises may be prescribed to follow at home also. This is a slow process and continuity is important.
