Periods problem

2026-10-05 08:45:11
My period started on August 17 and ended on August 20. After that, I had sex, but it was not unprotected. However, we were still worried about the possibility of pregnancy, so I took an i-Pill. I got bleeding/periods again on August 29, which ended on September 1. Since then, I haven’t had my period. I’m currently having slight brownish spotting/white discharge. I also took a pregnancy test about a week ago, and it was negative. Could you please advise me on what might be causing the delay

If the pregnancy test is negative then delay is due to side effects of pill. You can take medicine to get your period. Consult for prescription please.

Taking an emergency contraceptive pill like i-Pill commonly delays or disrupts the next period by days to weeks, which is very likely what's causing this. The bleed you had from August 29 to September 1 was probably the withdrawal bleed the pill caused, not a true period, and the brownish spotting now fits with your cycle still resetting.
Next Steps
Since your last pregnancy test was about a week ago, repeat a home test now to be sure. If your period still hasn't returned in another one to two weeks, see your gynaecologist for a hormone check and pelvic ultrasound.
Health Tips
Go in sooner if the spotting turns into heavy bleeding, or if you get pelvic pain or fever.
