My son was given 1st dose of PCV vaccination on 29th of November from government hospital under central programme. When should be next dose of vaccination be given and of which brand as free vaccination under government programme is not available in Mumbai. Does brand difference of vaccination matter?

In UP, parts of Chattisgarh and Bihar, PCV ( PREVENAR-13) vaccine is being administered free of cost in Govt centres...However since its not available in Mumbai, you may give it in private, but you need to stick to the same brand for good immunogenecity...

Under govt. Scheme in UP and some other states. They are giving PREVNAR. Please confirm in your Immunisation card or with the staff of hospital where it was given. You have to continue to give the same for better immunogenicity.

Yes dose brand difference matters.Check on immunization card batch no sticker must be there. And the second vaccination is due now
