PCOS Metital Spotting

I usually get periods between 30-40 days. From May'20 my periods have been irregular. I got periods on 2nd May and didn't get it in June. In July I took regesterone tablet and got it on 12th July. In August again I didn't get my periods and went to a gynecologist. She prescribed me Metital for three months and told me to reduce weight. I am 5'1 and currently 53 kgs. I have gained around 2kgs in the lockdown. I have started to take Metital 500 mg twice in a day (Breakfast and dinner) from last Monday (24th July). Yesterday I noticed a slight spotting and no actual periods. Today also there is a slight spotting. Is it because of the medicine or is it my actual periods since usually I have a normal flow. I am really worried because of the spotting. Can someone please help. Note: I have a normal prolactin and Thyroid level

Hi, the spotting is definitely not due to Metital, it’s most likely due to some hormonal problem. Continue medicines & maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Next Steps
Get a Day 2 FSH, LH done along with ultrasound pelvis to rule out PCOS.
