Sorry to hear about your mother's recurrence of schizophrenic illness. Sometimes stress among various other factors can trigger recurrence. Although it is prudent to restart medication which had previously controlled her symptoms, it would also be helpful to assess her situation for any psycho-social stress including any physical illness.
