Pain in the gluteus medius

I'm feeling pain in my gluteus medius for last 2-3 weeks. Its not very high but its always like pinching on the side of the body. Its more like under the skin. It doesn't pain when I press in that area. What may be the reason? I've consulted doctor and taken pain killers but didn't work.

Is there any radiation of the pain to ur leg or any numbness there? If not relieved with painkiller...should consult for better management Thanks
