Pain in rct tooth after 5 years
Feeling pain while chewing or drinking hot or cold beverages in rct treated tooth, which was done 5 years ago please suggest me some instant relief remedy.

Has the pain always been there or is this the first time this is happening? An X-ray of the offending tooth and nearby teeth can put things into perspective. A properly root canal treated tooth should not have sensitivity and pain. So an X-ray will help you determine if there is any residual infection or if it’s some other tooth which is causing the problem.

Hello, always sensitivity is a concerned problem.
Once you have finished Root Canal treatment ,there should not be any sensitivity to that particular tooth.
So first you have to check whether sensitivity problem is associated with the same tooth or Adjacent tooth.?
90%patients are confused.
Go for a X-ray and make it sure.
In most of the cases the nearby tooth might have got enamel loss and it causes sensitivity.

You should first go to a dentist and request for an. IOPA (X-ray) of both tooth and find out the exact reason.

1.If the Rct treated teeth was restored with crown(cap)?
2.suddenly you have started feeling pain or sensetivity?
3.Did u chew any hard substance and from than your pain has started?
4.do you see any visible metal exposed from your crown?(if restored with crown)?

Hie..may be there is reinfection occured...consult dentist and go for a xray so that he will evaluate what's the reason behind this pain ..and cap is given or not ???if not then this the reason for reinfection..
