Opening of PIlonidal sinus scar marks.

I had a  pilonidal sinus surgery 4 years ago. The scar has opened 5 to 6 times during this. Mostly when I used recliner seats for my commute to work. After cleaning and using betadin it usually gets healed in few days and keep shut for few months but usually reopens time to time I a thinking about lazer hair removal to reduce the possibility of reoccurrence . But I have few questions in mind. 1. Is the process painful. 2. How fast can I go back to work after session. 3. How much it may cost per session. Thanks in advance

Go for sonography and consider evaluation . At priority do shave the hairs at that area. local irritation causes sinus to mature and pus formation

A wound that repeatedly reopens—even if it seems to heal quickly with Betadine—needs to be evaluated by a general surgeon to rule out a recurrent pilonidal sinus (often checked with a local soft-tissue ultrasound/USG) before starting laser treatment. Laser hair removal cannot be safely performed on active, open, or unhealed wounds. Assuming the wound is completely healed and approved for treatment, here are the answers to your questions regarding laser hair removal for the sacrococcygeal (pilonidal) area: 1. Is the process painful---Mild stinging sensation. 2. How fast can I go back to work after session.---It is an outpatient procedure. You can return to work immediately after the session. 3. How much it may cost per session. ---The exact price depends on the clinic's location, the specific laser technology used, and the surface area treated, generally ranges from ₹1,500 to ₹4,000 per session.

Hello sir, Having noted your history of the unstable wound, a possibility of a recurrence should be ruled out with a USG local part, and after confirming the absence of an active disease, and adequate healing of the wound, you can proceed with laser removal of hair. 1. The process of laser hair removal wouldn't be painful. 2. It is an OP procedure, so you can return to work immediately. 3. The cost is highly variable based on the center where to decide to get the procedure done and also based on the surface area subjected to laser.
