One sided weakness

Its been close to 6-7 months on and off since i have been dealing with one sided weakness- most prominently in my right hand and right foot- feels weak, strained n mildy numb. Started in june- mri brain done- WNL.. Then again in october- mri done + carotid doppler- WNL Neurologist gave many meds but no improvement.. what to do? He says it could be cervical as well As back nerves compression Please offer me some suggestion for treatment, or why is it happening?
