However occlusal splint  and braces therapy also work for teeth clenching which results in tmj problems... By braces treatment it is not possible to move your teeth backwards.....only the teeth movement is possible by braces treatment...... Jaw movement can be done by orthopedic forces which is possible only during the growth phase of your jaws....concerning your age the jaw movement can be done by only the surgical phase of treatment
