Not enough breastmilk

Hi, It's been one month I had c section and delivered baby boy. But the problem is I am not getting enough breastmilk. Hardly getting 20-25 ml. So everytime I am feeding my baby first 15-20 min i am giving breastmilk then feeding with formula milk. So, can I feed my baby like one after the other or will it be a problem?

Hi , If u have concerns regarding quantity of breast milk u need to reconfirm by expressing milk through an electric/ manual breast pump 2 hours after the last feed. U should produce around 60 ml of milk from one breast. If the quantity is significantly less then u shud add galactagogues in your diet ( Galact granules 2 tsf twice a day in a glass of milk) tab perinorm 1 tab thrice a day x 7 days can be taken along. Feed from one breast at one sitting . Relax n let go off all stress as stressing out can significantly reduce the milk supply. If nothing works then u can add formula but make sure u feed it alternatively with breast milk not in one feed sitting. Thanks

You can continue giving breast milk followed by formula if weight gain is affected. Please meet a lactation consultant for help with solution
