My wife experiences pain like acid reflux around the rib cage area intermittently. We avoid milk (tea/ coffee) , chilies , rice during this time.. recovers after 3-4 days . Medical history .. hysterectomy ( 1 ovary ) due to endometriosis , high sugar ( under treatment last 4 odd months ) . Not clear why this pain happens . Want advice . Thank you

Kindly consult a gastroenterologist and undergo a upper GI endoscopy to find the degree of reflux and complications and to evaluate whether surgery is required as you say symptoms are not controlled by medical management
