Greetings Spitting up is common in infants and often improves as their digestive systems mature. While frequent spit-up can be normal if the baby is gaining weight and active, persistent crying and sleep difficulties might suggest discomfort from reflux, gas, or a potential sensitivity to the formula. To help reduce spit-up, try smaller and more frequent feedings, keep the baby upright for 30 minutes after eating, and ensure frequent burping during and after meals. Other possibilities for the discomfort include infant colic or an underlying gastrointestinal issue.

In many babies, small spit ups after feeds are common due to immature digestion, especially if baby is active and gaining weight well. Try giving smaller frequent feeds, burp properly after every feed and keep baby upright for 20-30 minutes after feeding. Avoid overfeeding. If baby has forceful vomiting, poor weight gain, fever, breathing difficulty, green vomit or excessive crying, kindly consult your pediatrician for examination.
