Nerve root compression-spinal injection

Is it advisable / How safe is it to go for epidural injection for spinal nerve root compression? Are there any risks we need to be aware of? How long will the effects last and do such injections have to be repeated? We would like to know if there are any other alternatives to treating this condition. Plz find attached the MRI summary and doctors prescription for injection. Thank you in advance.

Risk is very minimal, infection, nerve injury and may not be effective. Effective time period varies. Safe procedure. Alternatives - physio and surgery
