We have operated 100 year old patients as well. We normally have an Anaesthetist who is trained to respond to all medical emergencies as standby in such cases so as long as the diabetes is reasonably controlled there is no problem due to advanced age! the eye surgery can be performed at any age and in diabetics a little more care has to be taken and prognosis should be kept guarded.

Yes it's possible to do eye surgery, but since he is diabetic, he needs detailed evaluation of the eye to determine the prognosis of such a surgery.
