Hi Doctor, my sister has just completed her 8th month pregnancy with condition of low placenta for which doctor has adviced for MRI . I wish to know, is it SAFE for my sister to get MRI done as she's pregnant. Can it cause any harm to her or her unborn baby. Pls advice!

If it is Pr CS and placenta is low MRI is done to rule out placents accreta meaning it goes inside the uterine muscle n can cause lot of bleeding at time of delivery... MRI is safe

MRI is totally safe during pregnancy and her doctor must hv prescribed her MRI to be sure that the low lying placenta is not accreta , increta or percreta. Also these conditions are more common in previous history of surgery on the uterus.
