Hello doctor. My age is 65 years male diabetic from 6 years taking gluconorm g 1 Aten 50 tablet s. Took ECG it is written sinus rhythm left atrial enlargement. What is the meaning of this? What is the treatment. Is this very serious condition. Please answer.

ECG should always be interpreted by a doctor machine interpretation is not correct.
Everything should be clinically correlated.
Basically the treatment is based on the cause of Left atrial enlargement.
Like if hypertension then we manage hypertension if valvular abnormalities then we need to treat that or lvh then we need to take care of that.
So the patient may need blood thinner or beta blocker , diuretic etc depends on the patients condition
ECHO is advised.
