I have labile hypertension and suffered a high bp episode about a month ago (180/100). I was on inderal 20 mg a day. Such episodes had happened whenever I had burping and reflux and it was the same that
time also. The doc said it was due to anxiety and got me to do a treadmill which showed heart in good condition but bp hit a max of 190/110. Doc switched me to telmisartan + thiazide 40 mg twice a day. The bp has stabilized well for a month now and shows mostly around 105/65. I have also controlled acid reflux by changing to bland diet. Can I just lower my dosage of telmisartan to 40 mg a day henceforth? Is there anything else I need to check?
