Amblyopia treatment can be tried in children though the chances of improvement are less.
Next Steps
Do patching therapy. Patch the better eye (left eye) for 8 hours a day for 6 days and on 7th day patch the amblyopic eye (right eye). Do this for a month and then get his vision reassessed.

Hi, I'm assuming that your son has never worn spectacles before. Looks like he has Anisometropic Amblyopia.
Next Steps
- The prescribed spectacles must be worn regularly throughout the day. - Your ophthalmologist will review him periodically to asses for improvement in vision. - If there's no significant improvement in vision after 6months to 1 year, the doctor will prescribe patching or other therapies for Amblyopia
Health Tips
- Periodic follow up with the ophthalmologist is extremely important. - Please do not self medicate or start on eye exercises without the guidance of the ophthalmologist
