My left hand little finger pains

Since i year my left hand little finger aches terribly, but the pain is not continuous,it occurs occasionally and the finger tip is very sensitive up on contact with any surface it aches very much,it is just like putting the finger in between doors,please suggest me remedy.

At home.. Rest +hot water fomentation +pain killer gel +no cold exposure +no hanging of arm.
