My Baby has 38.8° C fever

My 1 year old baby boy has a fever of 38.8°C checked axillary ( underarms). No other symptoms are there and he is fast asleep. Shall I give him medicine- calpol or let him sleep?

We always check axillery temperature.. keep under observation. Is it too hot in room?
