Muscle and. Rib injury

I got injured on hit by wood in upper side of chest. Now, when I press hard into the area I can feel 0.25 cm wide and 10 cm long lump on doing physiotherapy. Also that hard lump inside chest feels very much tender on pressing hard into the chest.X ray report is normal. So, physiotherapy guy was saying might be nerve bruise. So, my doubt is if nerves is bruised will it heal and how many months will it remain tender or that lump is just Muscles inflammation or ribs callus.I asked my local doctor but he does not say anything and just prescribed some pain killer myscles relaxant and homeopathic tablet and breathing excercise.
