Mucus Suctioning with catheter

My son is 5 months old. He was diagnosed with laryngomalacia at 2 weeks old and it had completely reduced by completing 3 months. He had cold last month and 15 days back twice, we used zyrtec and mucilage drops and had 3 % nacl nebulisation and it got reduced. But there is some noisy breathing from last one month and increasing early mornings. So we consulted another doctor he suggested nebulisation in hospital. Also he suggested suction in the hospital with catheter. I know that only after the completion of the procedure. I am not aware that it's going to be the suction with catheter insertion. They used catheter 8. I am very much worried that it will affect my sons airway in anyway in future and make it vulnerable. I just want to know is it really required to have suction with catheter for noisy breathing and little mucus. Will this cause any Damage to the lungs and airway? Please reply am very much worried
