Dear Patient,
Your mother is improving clinically. Mild mucus in stool can persist for a few days as the intestine heals. Passing stool 2–3 times daily with improved consistency is acceptable.
No need to worry if there is:
• No blood in stool
• No high fever
• No severe abdominal pain
Complete the antibiotic course and continue probiotics for a few more days. Maintain hydration and light diet.
If mucus persists beyond one week or symptoms worsen, stool test may be required.
