Scars are amenable to various treatment options and it has to be customized based on your scar type. If there is more of scarring, fractional CO2 lasers are needed and if there is more of pigmentation than Q switched Nd YAG laser is needed. Sometimes we need to combine both the lasers in sessions.
Other options include dermaroller with or without mesotherapy, subcision and some other procedure. Certain patient benefit when oral medications are given concomitantly. Topical creams may be of little use and will supplement laser treatment. A definitive opinion can be given after examining the scarred area.
