There is no as such medicinal cure for MVP.. management depends mainly on severity of MVP and symptoms.. Severe MVP mainly present with regurgitation .. Symptoms commonly are palpitations, breathlessness,chest pain..

Most often an incidental finding during clinical examination or echocardiogram, found in 2-3% of population. If it’s prolapse alone without valve insufficiency, needs only periodic follow up.
