Milk fistula

I went through I&D surgery for breast abscess 4 days ago and drain pipes have been inserted and kept open. Today in my regular dressing, surgeon mentioned it seems like fistula is forming inside and ask me to pump in the affected breast. Even though I am expressing through pump, only few drops of milk is coming and more leakage is only from drain pipes. To stop fistula from forming, can I use milk suppression medicine? Will milk suppression medicine have any short or long term severe side effects?

If fistula started forming, Please go ahead with milk suppression medication in form of Cabergolin tablet. It will stop forming more infection and fistula and helps healing. If ur baby still on breastfeeding then pls consult peadiatrician and start on top feeds / Formula feeds. Consider surgeon opinion for ur fistula
