Mercury thermometer broke
Few days back I broke Mercury thermometer at home when washing in the sink. Around 3 or 4 balls of Mercury went down the drain and I fear I may have inhaled it's vapours. I am having headache for past 3 days. Could it be Mercury poisoning? I want to know if this is toxic to my kids at home. Is there anyway I can measure toxicity in air. How can I ensure that the place is safe for my family.
PS the rest of the thermometer was sealed and discarded properly.

Mercury is poisonous if taken in large amounts but in your case you can go for a urine test and blood test to look for the mercury levels. The symptoms you related and most likely not because of mercury poisoning. You should take proper care of things which contain mercury and discard them properly. You can take dolo 650 for headache and be reassured that you dont suffer from mercury poisoning.
