Medications for tuberculosis
My father aged 56 having pain in wrist for 2 years. While consulting with doctor for the same he advised for TB test (CB-NAAT) suspecting it's due to tb. The report came negative for test but still he asked to continue the medicine saying it's presumptive treatment.
After having medicine his urine colour has changed to orange colour and having more cough and discomfort. He is also having pain in his legs from last 1-2 months. The medicine also causing lots of discomfort.
Kindly advise if it's correct to continue with TB medicine and what could be side effects and risk in it.
TB test report and medicine for treatment is attached.
Lab test r not always conclusive for TB .sometimes clinical findings are more reliable.
Urine color is because of the drug rifampicin ,don't worry about that. Leg pain can b due to deficiency of pyridoxine .which is a common side effect of isoniazid..

TB near wrist joint is a rare entity but still can happen.. the change in urine color is due to medicines. It will settle once medicines are stopped.
Have you got any other investigations like X ray, MRI of wrist or any inflammatory markers.
TB medicines have various side effects like nausea, vomiting, change in urine color, etc. but not all patients develop those side effects. It depends on how the body responds to them..
Next Steps
If you want to confirm TB, you can plan for getting a biopsy from the site of lesion.. If he is also having cough, he should also get Chest X ray done to find any involvement of lungs..
