My sister had Mastoidectomy and Tympanoplasty on day before yesterday. Now her face is swollen a little and feeling pain around the ear. Is this normal? How long will this persist? Do we need to take care of anything in particular?

there might be little swelling of face due to tight mastoid dressing which usually resolves fast. there will be some pain at the incision site for couple of days and its not really abnormal. ask your surgeon for a better pain killer if necessary. you should be worried only if symptoms persist after few more days
