Lump and nose congestion

2022-06-01 11:51:26
2 days ago I inhaled a lot of dust. I cleaned my nostrils. The next day of inhaling dust i found a lump somewhere in between my throat and the chin. The lump doesn't really hurt and moves a little if I try to move it. 1 or 2 days later, today, my nose feels congested. There's mostly watery discharge coming out of the nose instead of mucous. There's also a bit of irritation in the upper mouth area, as if there's going to be a cough. Should I be worried? And what should I do? Will it go away on its own? Also, I have been taking steam.

Hi. Most likely you have developed an allergic reaction due to the dust. Simple antihistamines like Levocetrizine should help. You can continue to take steam and do some warm water gargles. However, if the symptoms persist for more than 1-2 days, plz visit an ENT specialist near you for further evaluation. Warm regards, Dr Aanchal, Therapeia centre, Bangalore
