Low back discogenic pain

Hello, I am suffering from chronic low back stiffness and mild paid for the last 3 years and my doctor has said that it is discogenic in nature and a life long.Last three years I am on Pregabalin caps and Symbal 20 tabs along with mild back related daily stretch exer. Let me know do I need to take medicines for life .
