One of my father's friend who is a general physician came today and said for ur issue (erosive fundal gastritis - moderate duodentities ) u have to take ANTACIDS for life time Is he right? I dont want to take them anymore its been 3½ mnths

No. Who told u that these are required for lifelong. Treatment of Gastritis is for few weeks to months only. And as soon as it heals, it can be stopped. Incomplete TREATMENT leads to very prolonged Treatment without healing.
