Leaving Clonazepam

2023-08-26 11:20:50
I have been on anti anxiety medication Paxidep and Clonazepam -.25 mg for a few years. For the last 18 years , I have been decreasing my dosage but recently I can't seem to leave Clonazepam-.25mg , every week I end up taking it twice or thrice and have been struggling to go completely off it for last 4-5 months. How do I completely taper of it ?

Hi.. I understand your problem. This is called benzodiazepine dependence. But not to worry. This isn't a big issue. Alternate medications may help and slowly it can be tapered and stopped.
Next Steps
Consult a nearby psychiatrist

Consult a psychiatrist, let he/she assess the current mental state and take a combined decision regarding the medication.
Next Steps
Take a consultation before self tapering of medication.
