If mother has lazy eye from childhood,can her children also get lazy eye.can we stop before delivery?

If the mother has major refractive error like myopia or hypermetropia the child has a genetic predisposition to get the same . So early vision testing and refraction is advisable.

Lazy eye as such can't happen unless there is an inciting factor, which is often refractive error. Get your child eye screened by an Ophthalmologist after delivery and watch for major warning signs like white eye reflex and deviation of eyes. Can't be determined ante natal however

Yes the baby can have lazy eye.. as there is genetic predisposition. Having said that it's not always necessary for a baby to inherit this condition. As a pediatric ophthalmologist I would suggest you to get your infant evaluated with a pediatric ophthalmologist at 6 months of age.

During an antenatal scan you can specially ask your doctor to look for eyes. Any gross abnormality only can be detected with antenatal scan

This cannot be predicted before delivery, You can get the baby examined early in life so any refractive error gets treated timely preventing lazy eye

There is a possibility  that child may have lazy eye. No, this can't  be stopped  before  delivery. But you can get your  baby checked timely, so that it can be managed in time.

Before birth we can not say anything, you can have good antenatal scan to check your babies normal growth
