Laproscopy or open surgery

My father is 65 years old. He has umbilical hernia since long time and he is heart patient. He would like to get treatment for hernia. Which is best. Please suggest.

If it is complicated umbilical hernia, better to do open surgery. Anyway at this stage , operation risk is there both in laparoscopy and open surgery
