The pain may be due to over exertion. Since there is no pain at rest, it will be better if you can give some rest to the joint. You should do exercises in a graded manner by increasing the amount of exercise gradually. Some hot fomentation and local application of cream can be helpful.
If the pain persist or increases, it would be better to consult your orthopaedic doctor because it may be due to some internal injury to the joint.
