Knee effusion looking for second opinion
15 months ago i had a sudden pain in my right thigh above the knee. Extreme one. X-ray showed swelling above right knee. no other diagnosis was done as i was in a very small town. After 6 months, i went to a big ortho hospital in pune where MRI was done on my mid thigh area and knee effusion was found. They dint do a knee MRI. Medication and physiotherapy started and i got some relief but i am not satisfied with the treatment and looking for second opinion as i was never told the reason behind it. Doctor said it could be a muscle tear, pull, worn, muscle weakness etc. After 9 months of treatment i can only walk and take stair, but cant fold my legs much, forget about running or dancing or any strain on my knee.. i have taken medication which has been stopped now and still undergoing physiotherapy. But i have reached only phase2 physiotherapy afr 7 months. I might be wrong but i have doubts that there is something more that needs to be dealt with. i have reached a stagnation point in it

Knee effusion may be due to various reasons - arthritis, reactive, meniscus injury, infections like TB, tumors (to name a few). If left untreated, it can lead to permanent damage to your knee joint. Physiotherapy alone can not treat a knee effusion. The disease causing the effusion needs to be diagnosed and treated
