Kidney stone removal

We did URS for kidney stone removal. But only half of the stone removed in that. We went for lithotripsy ( stent placed during URS was kept ) and stone was broken. When we went for stent removal, during removal procedure doctor suddenly told that there are stone fragments available. We are going to do URS again. We couldn't deny it as it was asked in the middle of the surgery. So, they did URS and again placed stent. They asked us to come for stent removal again after 2 weeks.   Whether stones removed in lithotripsy be still present in kidney region? Whether the second URS is reasonable and necessary? Keeping another stent is needed after second URS even though they removed all remaining stone fragments? Kindly help us to get clarity on this..

Yes your concern is very much right. But from your history it seems that urologist has done right things. Just proper explanation is needed for you to understand the scenario. You can discuss your queries to your treating doctor also. There may be a long discussion for it.
