Renal stones are formed due to supersaturation of salts in urine. This is a recurrent disease with 35 % risk of recurrence in 5 years. This can be prevented by certain dietary modifications like avoiding high salt content diets, animal protein and taking 3litres of fluids daily.Certain medication s can help but they don't nullify the risk or chances of recurrence.

Medical management is having variable results in various patients. No medication are there that can dissolve all stones fully. Mostly some medication help to reduce size of stones, that results in increase in possibilities of spontaneous passage of stones .
