Newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes.What insulin dose is preferred. To manage this problem. Is any combination of ACTRAPID and Lantus combination?. Can I give ACTRAPID and Lantus simultaneously. With half hour lag.

There is no Actrapid and Lanctus Combination. Anyway I suggest you should go for Premeals and basal insulin as that will best control your sugars and gives you flexibility. Or opt for Insulin Pump.

Type 1 DM in a 6 year old child needs to be managed with regular monitoring under the guidance of a diabetologist. Novorapid is a better alternative of Actrapid for smoother control. Lantus should be taken at bedtime. Once the doses are stabilized it's better to shift him to 2 doses of premixed because the child may not cooperate with 4 pricks a day.
